Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Hours per week: 40
- Call Requirement: 8-12 days of call per month
- Weekend Requirement: Every 4th weekend on call
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience of at least 1 year within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify compliance (for direct hires)
- Background checks including:
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Completion of employment application/resume
Additional Requirements
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blindness test (online version accepted)
- Core compliance testing annually (for subcontractors)
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for a Cath Lab Registered Nurse in Albuquerque, NM, working day shifts with call and weekend requirements. Candidates must have at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience and hold current RN licensure with BLS and ACLS certifications. First-time travel nurses are welcome. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and compliance documentation are required prior to start. Fingerprinting and fit testing are completed onsite during orientation.
