Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Patient care includes diagnoses such as Sepsis, CIWA, Confusion, AMS, COPD, Post-op care, AKI, Trauma, Respiratory failure, Bowel obstruction, Pyelonephritis, Cardiac conditions, Diabetes, GI conditions, Isolation, and Suicidal Ideation with medical indications.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Charting system: Epic
• Must work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
• 100-mile radius rule applies; no local candidates accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Essential Job Functions

• Apply the Nursing Process across all age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Thorough documentation following regulatory and hospital standards.
• Maintain clinical competencies and support professional development.
• Deliver care in a fast-paced, changing environment using sound judgment and best practices.
• Utilize computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records.

• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements only.

• Candidates must not have local residence within 100 miles of the facility.
