Clinical Lab Scientist - Travel/Contract

Location: Orange, California
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital (426 staffed beds, Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital preferred)
Shift: Night shift, 4x10 hours (typically 21:30 to 7:30, may flex to 20:00 start)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work independently during night shifts in a high-volume clinical laboratory setting.
  • Handle 30-50 samples daily, focusing on blood bank testing including type/screen and crossmatch.
  • Must be confident working alone overnight.
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required; weekends may exceed every other weekend.
  • No scheduling accommodations for outside employment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in California
  • Minimum 2 years of Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Clinical Lab Scientist
  • Experience working with Level I Trauma patients at a Trauma Level I hospital
  • Experience working in a large hospital (300+ beds)
  • Recent or current blood bank experience (within 2 years)
  • Experience with blood bank software
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
