PACU Nurse - Hawaii, Hilo

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide care for patients pre-op, and during Phase I and Phase II recovery after surgery.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track patient stability or complications.
- Work primarily in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU).
- Use equipment such as Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD's, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips Monitors.
Schedule
- Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours.
- Possible shifts include Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
- On-call shifts required 0-3 times per month (8-hour nights and 24-hour weekends/holidays).
- No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), with at least some experience within the last year.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a critical care RN, including Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Additional Notes
- Candidates must apply for and obtain an active Hawaii RN license if not currently licensed.
- Critical care and surgical nursing experience is highly valued.
