MRI Tech Travel/Contract Job - Winston Salem, North Carolina


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Location: Winston Salem, NC
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Wed-Fri, 17:00-05:30)
  • Daily Caseload: Approximately 40 patients
  • Rooms: 3 MRI rooms
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Work Setting Experience: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Hospital, Adult ICU
  • Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Unit Orientation: 1 week first shift, then assessed for independence
  • Scrubs: Royal Blue tops and bottoms
  • Unit Systems: EPIC, Visage (PACS)
  • Special Equipment: Siemens (Avanto and Sola) and GE Premier — must be competent on both
  • Special Procedures: 3rd shift tech works independently; occasional operations assistant may be on duty but not guaranteed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) certification
  • Experience working with Geriatric, Adolescent, and Adult patients
  • Experience in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Local county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, education verification (highest degree specific to profession)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days of start
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (within 30 days if past positive TB)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
    • Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative)
    • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (facility-specific declination if applicable)
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption documentation (mask required if exempt)
    • Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) within 1 year
  • Facility Specific Documents:
    • Confidentiality agreement
    • Education roster and annual compliance training
    • Medication safety training with certificate of completion
    • Non-Novant Health Worker Clinical Education Checklist (for NC travel candidates)
    • Photo for badge (passport style, white background, business attire) required immediately after signing contract
    • Badge issuance and related documentation
    • Hospital policies and acknowledgment form
  • References:
    • 2 professional references within 3 years for travel and acute care allied/per diem
  • Employment Application: Must be uploaded to facility system

Additional Notes

  • No return-to-office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation and Do Not Rebook (DNR) status.
  • Interview with manager required before offer. Provide candidate availability within 72 hours of submission.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam and other competency exams may be required as applicable.
  • Radiation badge required if applicable (not typical for MRI tech but noted for related roles).
  • Candidates must complete the facility’s Corp ID and I-Learn account setup promptly after contract signing to avoid start delays.

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with solid MRI procedural experience, comfortable working independently on night shifts, and able to meet comprehensive compliance and credentialing requirements.
