Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Torrance, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Facility & Work Environment

Acute Care Hospital with 356 staffed beds
Charting system: Epic
Free parking available
Scrub color: Any color allowed
Possible floating to a nearby facility within reasonable distance
Weekend requirement: 1 Saturday shift every 6 weeks
On-call requirement: 1 call shift every 6 weeks
Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
Locals accepted; pending licenses not accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience & References

First-time travelers accepted
Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required
Skills checklist and competency exams required as applicable and must be updated annually

Background & Compliance

Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
Education verification required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation
State-specific background and registry checks as applicable
Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS required
Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)

Additional Notes

Floating policy acknowledgment required due to possible float assignments
Must comply with facility-specific policies including controlled substance waste policy for ER RNs
Epic training modules required and must be completed promptly after orientation
Candidates must be able to work 1 Saturday shift and 1 on-call shift every 6 weeks
RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission
