Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Plano, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Specialty: Medical Oncology
- Unit Size: 30 beds
- Staff: 52 members
- Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 1 Unit Secretary
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 RNs, 2-3 PCTs
- Patient Ratios: Maximum 5:1 or 6:1
- Equipment: Standard medical equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
- On-call and floating requirements: None
- Staff start times: Required to be present by 6:45 am/pm and attend huddle at 6:53 am/pm
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology nursing experience
Typical Procedures on Unit
- Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures
- Gynecologic Oncology procedures

- Most recruited roles include Travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters
- Candidates without BLS, RN license, and Med Surg experience will not be considered
