Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position

Location: Lewisville, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Cardio-Respiratory
Number of Beds: 191
Staffing (Day Shift): 1 Supervisor, 3 staff (8 full-time, 4 PRN)
Staffing (Night Shift): 1 Supervisor, 3 staff (10 full-time)
Patient Ratios: Not specified
Equipment Used: Servo I, Servo U, V60, Hamilton C-1, Airvo, Volara, Vest
EMR System: Meditech
Floating Areas: ICU, PCU, ED, and general floors

Job Description

Work independently with critical care level patients
Triage levels of care across multiple floors
Typical procedures:
- Nebulizer treatments
- Ventilator checks
- BiPAP checks
- ABG draws
- Intubation assist and extubation
- Bronchial hygiene assist
- PEP therapy
- Running lactic acid tests
- EKGs
- Patient assessments

Required Qualifications

Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Certification valid in Texas
Certifications:
- Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
Ability to work independently with critical care patients

Preferred Qualifications

Level 3 NICU experience

Dress Code: Black scrubs
Personality Fit: Team player, compassionate, willing to assist where needed
Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends

This position requires a licensed Respiratory Therapist with critical care skills and relevant certifications, ready to work in a fast-paced cardio-respiratory unit with a variety of respiratory equipment and patient care responsibilities.
