Registered Nurse (Medical Unit Nights) - Janesville, WI
Position Type
- Contract assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Schedule includes every other weekend and holiday
- 12-hour shifts
Job Description
- Provide patient care using the nursing process in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing standards, policies, and state laws
- Document care according to standards
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education
- Participate in unit or department performance improvement activities, including shared governance
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support patient care continuity
- Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately
- May be required to float to other units
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
- Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
