Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Job Overview
- Coordinate nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Utilize EMR systems, specifically Meditech.
- Charge Nurse responsibilities on a 12-bed unit with a team nursing model.
- No floating to other departments.
Schedule
- 8-hour rotating shifts.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii (must apply immediately upon offer if not currently licensed).
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in Charge Nurse roles.
- BLS certification.
- NCI or other crisis prevention training.
Additional Information
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
- Orientation includes assignment to a mentor.
- Dress code: clean and professional attire.
