Registered Nurse - Hemodialysis

Location: Salida, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Urgent need for a Hemodialysis RN to provide daily dialysis care and supervision for in-center, acute, and peritoneal dialysis patients. Work schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with possible holiday coverage if the unit is operating.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-assessment, ongoing assessment, and post-assessment of dialysis patients.
Maintain overall accountability and responsibility for patient care during dialysis.
Demonstrate advanced technical skills to set parameters and monitor dialysis machinery readings.
Access fistula or shunt carefully to avoid clot formation.
Provide care for acute and peritoneal dialysis patients as needed.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado
Minimum 6 months (0.5 years) of outpatient dialysis nursing experience within the last year
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong language, grammar, and spelling abilities.
Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals.
Ability to maintain patient, employee, and facility confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Shift Details

Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
May include holiday coverage if the dialysis unit is operational.

Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS/BCLS (Basic Life Support/Basic Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
