Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Location

Richmond, Virginia
Unit: Maternal Infant Unit
Unit Details:
- 24 beds
- 71 staff members
- Located on 3rd floor, Atrium building
Patient Ratios:
- Labor: 1:1 (most of the time)
- Post-partum: 5-6:1
- Nursery: 5-6:1
Equipment: GE fetal monitors
EMR System: Meditech, CPN

Employment Type

Travel contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Hours per week: 36

Work Schedule

Every third weekend required
12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule

Typical Procedures

Vaginal deliveries
C-sections
Antepartum patient care
Newborn and post-partum care

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Post Partum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Labor and Delivery experience
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years labor experience specifically in LDRP units with high birth volumes

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs
Pink badges for infant security

This position is ideal for RNs with labor and delivery experience seeking a travel assignment in a busy maternal infant unit.
