Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Number of Beds: 25
Patient Ratio: 2:1
Staffing: No LNAs or PCTs; 24/7 mid-level providers, trauma surgeons, respiratory therapists; PT/OT available during day shift
Equipment: GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipaps and Hiflows, Puritan ventilator, Hemospheres
Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
Scheduling: 12 shifts per month (approx. 3 shifts/week), including 4 weekend shifts; schedule managed by department leadership
Floating Policy: Rotation basis with travelers floating first
Patient Experience: MyCare board updated each shift; bedside shift report at every shift change

Hospital Certifications

Comprehensive Stroke Center
Level 2 Trauma Center
Three Star STS Open Heart Program

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Hampshire
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
ACLS certification
BLS certification
Experience titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications
Chest tube experience

Preferred Skills

Open heart experience
Temporary pacing
Swan-Ganz catheter experience

Procedures Performed on Unit

Intubation
Central line and arterial line placement
Chest tube placement

Work Schedule & Dress Code

Approximately 36 hours per week
Uniform: Scrubs (color flexible)

Additional Notes

Unit staffed with experienced clinicians and advanced technology
Emphasis on bedside shift reporting and patient experience updates each shift
