Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Mission Viejo, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Primarily working in PET (Positron Emission Tomography) with possible float to Nuclear Medicine as needed.
- Variable start times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
- Shift options: 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts, day shift (8:00 AM to 6:30 PM).
- Call required post-shift and rotating weekends; travelers may be exempt from call depending on experience but must be open to it.
- Experience with EPIC and Siemens systems is highly preferred.
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
- Local radius for assignment is 50 miles.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
- Minimum of 6 months (0.5 years) of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, with experience within the last year.
- ARRT (N) certification.
- NMTCB certification.
- BLS certification.

Orientation
- No non-billable orientation hours required (0 hours vs. standard 40 hours).
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable).
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- E-Verify attestation required.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination accepted.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.
Certifications (Must be current and valid)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification with California license.
- Additional certifications may be required based on clinical track but not specified for this role.
Experience & References
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment required.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be willing to float to Nuclear Medicine if needed.
- Scheduling requests related to outside employment will not be accommodated.
- Weekends may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs.
- All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application.
