Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery (Travel)
Location
- Webster, Texas
- Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Floor: 2nd, Heart Tower
- EMR system: Meditech
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- On call: average 4-5 days per month
- Weekend on call: 1 weekend per month
- No night shift coverage on this unit
Unit Details
- 3 Operating Rooms
- 26 staff members total
- Day shift skill mix: 4 RNs and Surgical Technologists each daily
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Floating area: Main OR
- Scrub color/attire provided by unit
Typical Procedures
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
- Valve Replacement
- Carotid Endarterectomy
- Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
- Angiogram
- Fistulagram and Fistula Creation
- Lower extremity Bypass
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Experience in vascular surgery
- Operating Room (OR) experience
- HHCCA - De-escalation Skills - Healthcare Setting
Preferred Skills
- Open heart and vascular surgery experience
- Operating room experience
Work Environment
- Fast-paced setting requiring adaptability and strong clinical skills
This position is ideal for RNs with cardiovascular OR experience seeking a travel assignment in a specialized surgical unit.
