Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Martinsville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

Acute-care hospital with 220 licensed beds
Emergency Department with 34 beds
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Serves all age groups (pediatric to geriatric)
Electronic Health Record system: Medhost
Emergency Department handles common diagnoses such as Chest Pain, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and Psychiatric cases

Position Details

Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
Specialty: Emergency Department
Number of Openings: 1
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: As needed, approximately every other weekend
Call Requirements: As needed
Float Requirements: As needed
Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed; casual wear is not acceptable

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
Patient population includes a wide range of ages and medical conditions
Professional, positive, compassionate, and team-oriented personality fit preferred

Note: Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status.
