Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Day

Location: Chico, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Shift: Day shifts (8- or 10-hour shifts) starting at 6:30 AM, with alternating weekends
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

Provide direct patient care as a first assistant to the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery Suite.
Perform an expanded perioperative nursing role with knowledge, skills, and judgment acquired through organized instruction and supervised practice.
Practice under the supervision of the surgeon.
Position requires credentialing through the medical staff office (minimum 6-8 week processing time).

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Minimum 2 years of First Assist experience
First Assist experience within the last year
Perioperative experience

Additional Information

Agency staff must be W-2 employees of their agency.
Med/Surg and Critical Care RNs in this setting are required to float as needed.
