Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Operating Room with 8 ORs
- Staff includes 13 RNs and 10 scrub techs
- Day shift staffing: 8 RNs and 8 scrub techs
- OR operating hours: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech ORM

- Neuro spine
- Orthopedics
- Urology
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
- Operating Room experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Neuro spine experience
- CNOR certification
- More than 5 years of experience in the specialty
Work Schedule & Environment
- Shift starts at 6:30 AM; daily huddle at 6:45 AM
- 45-minute response time for on-call duties
- Rotating call schedule: 1 RN and 1 scrub tech on call from 5 PM to 7 AM on weekdays, and 24-hour call coverage on weekends (7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Sunday)
- Weekends covered by on-call staff
- Scrubs provided by hospital
- Artificial nails, dips, gels, etc., are not permitted

- May float to similar areas as needed
