Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Expected Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
Weekend Requirement: Yes, according to scheduling needs
Floating: No floating between units
On-call: Not required
Block Schedules: Not required

    • Orthopedic trauma post-op care management
    • Blood administration
    • Wound vac management

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience in orthopedic trauma post-operative care management
  • Experience with wound vac management

  • Not explicitly required

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024, updated annually
  • Immunizations and screenings:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with declination option
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with declination option
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)

Background & Verification

  • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
  • Education verification required for nursing degree
  • NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search)
  • References and work history verification as per policy

Uniform & Dress Code

  • Licensed nursing personnel wear solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping)
  • Print tops not allowed except in specific pediatric or women’s services units

  • Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
  • Float policy acknowledgement required (may be asked to float to nearby facilities)
