Ultrasound Technologist (ECHO) - Contract in Sitka, Alaska
Job Details
- Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging (Adult ECHO Ultrasound Technologist)
- Employment Type: Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, no on-call
- Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Provide radiographic examinations for diagnostic interpretation, specifically adult echocardiography.
- Apply professional judgment and radiation protection principles during procedures.
- Perform diagnostic medical radiography within the department and other areas as needed.
- Maintain patient records and files accurately.
- Take responsibility for the departmental quality assurance program.
- Transfer patients to and from radiology.
- Assist with general hygiene of the department and self.
- Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor.
- Work effectively under stress and adapt to other assigned duties.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan to assess and interpret patient data appropriately.
- Work respectfully with patients and employees from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
- Adhere to ethics and compliance standards, reporting any variances through proper channels.
- Uphold customer service standards aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of an ECHO training program.
- Current RDCS Adult (RDCS (A)) certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty.
- BLS/BCLS certification.
- Multimodality certification preferred.
- Flu vaccine required.
Additional Requirements
- Must live at least 50 miles away from the worksite to be eligible.
- Start date contingent on completion and processing of fingerprinting (fingerprint appointment and mailing must be done promptly to avoid delays).
