Rad Tech - Radiology (Travel Contract)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Friday to Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Radiology technologist position in a fast-paced imaging services unit with high patient acuity, including stroke and trauma cases.
- Work environment includes a large team of 100+ imaging techs and interventional radiology nurses.
- Unit uses mostly GE equipment and electronic medical records (EMR).
- No call required.
- Weekend shifts are rotating.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Texas Medical Board (TMB) licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional modality certifications such as MRI, CT, ACLS are preferred.
- Experience in trauma and stroke imaging.
- Strong scanning skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Team player with a flexible and positive attitude.
Unit Details
- Imaging Services located on the 1st floor of the main building.
- Day shift staffing: 1 lead and 4+ techs per shift depending on modality.
- Night shift staffing: 3 techs in CT/Radiology, 1 tech in Ultrasound/MRI.
- Patient population includes super sick patients with high acuity.
Dress Code
- Olive scrub tops and black pants required.
Additional Information
- The unit values strong technical skills and experience in a high-acuity, trauma/stroke environment.
- Candidates without the required certifications and experience will not be considered.
