Registered Nurse - Postpartum/Mom Baby (Travel Assignment)

Travel assignment
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
No call required
Hours per week: 36

Unit Information

Unit type: Antepartum/Postpartum
Number of beds: 24
Number of staff: 26 (including 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1 clerk during day; no patient care technicians at night)
Patient ratios: Typically 3:1 or 4:1, occasionally 2:1 depending on acuity
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems: Meditech and CPN

Typical Procedures on Unit

Non-stress tests
Hyperemesis management
Insulin drips
Magnesium administration
Heparin drips

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of Postpartum nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Labor & Delivery or Antepartum experience
