**Join Our Dynamic ICU Team in Beautiful Vermont!** **Job Description:** - **Position:** Registered Nurse (RN) for ICU Team - **Location:** Central Vermont Medical Center, Berlin, VT - **Unit Specialty:** Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - **Total Beds at Facility:** 90 **Key Responsibilities:** - Minimum commitment: Every other weekend - Schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs - Floating required to other units as needed - No on-call responsibilities **Requirements:** - Active AHA BLS & ACLS certifications - NIHSS certification required prior to start - Preferred certifications: CCRN and AHA PALS - Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, including 3 years in ICU - Recent EPIC experience (within the past 2 years) is non-negotiable **Additional Information:** - Monday to Sunday shifts available - No block scheduling - Ensure all employment history is complete, including facility type and bed count - Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained - Reliable transportation is required (public transport is not accessible) - Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires (Nov - Apr) **Facility and Unit Highlights:** - 14-bed ICU with an average daily census of 8-10 patients - Nurse to patient ratio: 2:1 or 3:1 (day/night) - Ancillary support: CNA/PCT and Unit Clerk available - Advanced Practice: Pulmonologist on-site during the day - Documentation System: EPIC - Medication System: PIXIS **Common Diagnoses Treated:** - Sepsis - Respiratory failure (BiPAP, Hi-Flow, Vent) - DKA - Alcohol withdrawal - Overdose and suicidal ideation - CHF, dysrhythmias, NSTEMI, unstable angina, COVID, PE, GI bleed **Unit-Specific Procedures and Protocols:** - Titration of medications - Assist with cardioversion - Conscious/moderate sedation - Intubation/extubation - Chest tube management - Central line and PICC line management - Blood administration - Post-mortem care and pressure injury prevention **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
