Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Work in a 26-bed Emergency Department with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5, flexible based on acuity.
Patient population includes all age groups.
Typical cases include respiratory distress, overdose, congestive heart failure (CHF), dialysis, and hypertension (HTN).
Use of Meditech electronic health record system.
Equipment includes GE monitors and standard ED equipment.
Shift and hours vary; 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Weekend shifts every other weekend.
No call requirements.
Float assignments similar to this role.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Certifications required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Additional Information

Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
Candidates must be located at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status.
Preferred experience with Meditech EHR.
Team player with a positive, engaged attitude preferred.
Scrub color is flexible; no specific unacceptable attire noted.

Facility is approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, NC.
Close to major universities and about 1 hour from the NC coast.
Nearby recreational areas include Lake Wilson and historic Fleming Stadium.
