Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Work in a Behavioral Health specialty within a hospital setting.
36 hours per week, shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
No call requirements.
Patient population: Adult behavioral health patients.
Common diagnoses include Schizophrenia, Dementia, Manic Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, Dual Diagnosis, Medical Detox, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders.
Patient ratios vary by unit, generally ranging from 1 RN per 10-23 patients with CNA support.
Electronic Health Record system used: Cerner.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Handle With Care (HWC).

Additional Information

Orientation start dates are scheduled throughout the year; candidates must start on one of the specified dates.
Dress code allows any color scrub.
Facility includes multiple behavioral health units with varying bed counts (10 to 23 beds per unit).
No float requirements specified.
