Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Position
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
Work Schedule: Full Time
Job Summary
- Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting.
- Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers.
- Deliver care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursing within the last year.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Current STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants).
Additional Position Requirements
- Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days.
- New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member and must complete organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validations.
- Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
