MRI Technologist - Radiology
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings, Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Work Type: Full Time
Job Summary
- Perform a wide variety of routine and advanced MRI imaging procedures.
- Support other imaging technologists as needed to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow.
- Troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and participate in quality assurance (QA).
- Resolve issues related to image processing and image archiving systems (PACS).
- Provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees.
- Participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within licensure scope.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as required.
- Maintain expected imaging competencies and adhere to organizational mission, values, and culture.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to core values and departmental policies including professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability.
- Collaborate with management, coworkers, and physicians to promote staff growth and employee engagement.
- Assist radiologists and referring physicians to promote exceptional physician satisfaction.
- Adapt patient assessment and care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-specific needs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Perform examinations/procedures to assist patient throughput within scope of licensure and competencies.
- Ensure completed exams are correctly scanned and stored in PACS.
- Follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions and follow up appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year.
- Certification as an MRI Technologist from ARRT (MR) or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
