Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (7a-7p / 7p-7a)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 34 beds
Patient ratio approximately 6:1
Patient population includes geriatric and adult patients; occasional pediatrics not assigned to traveler
Unit includes telemetry, surgical, and general medical patients
Equipment used: Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, telemetry monitors
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Call required only when unit is down staffed or placed on call
Float assignments possible to care for inpatient holds

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Arizona
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience within the last year
More than 1 year of total travel nursing experience
BLS certification
ACLS certification

Work Environment & Expectations

Must occasionally work weekends with same shift hours
Flexible and willing to assist where needed
Dress code: scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes only

Additional Notes

Orientation provided bi-weekly
Located in a high desert region with access to local parks, historical sites, and wine tasting opportunities
Travel candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel rate
