Work Schedule
- Shift: Day (5 days a week, 8 hours per day)
- Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
- Floating between like units required
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Perform assessments and treatment related to:
- Infection Prevention
- Fall/Risk Assessment
- Billing
- Acute and Chronic Disorders
- Functional Activities
- Must be able to float between similar units as needed
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience
- Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
Orientation
- 16 hours orientation required
Licensure & Certifications
- Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license for California
- Required certifications (as applicable, verify with clinical track):
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
- IV Certification (if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)
- Verify certification requirements per clinical track or unit
Required Documents & Background Checks
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- E-Verify attestation
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification (degree/diploma/transcript as applicable)
- State-specific searches as required
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required annually; onsite testing available if needed
- Immunizations and screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with float policy; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
- Scrub color: any solid color except royal blue
- Charting system: Epic

- Guaranteed hours: facility may call off once per two-week pay period
