Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT/MLS) – Night Shift

Location: Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 40 hours per week

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced MLT/MLS to perform high complexity laboratory testing in hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, blood bank, or microbiology. The role involves specimen collection, test performance, quality control, troubleshooting, and reporting results in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collect patient specimens and manage sample orders using the Information System.
Perform lab tests using automated and manual methods in hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, blood bank, or microbiology.
Analyze and verify test results before releasing information to patient charts.
Ensure turnaround times for test results are met and critical results are reported and documented appropriately.
Conduct quality control and proficiency testing, interpret results, and troubleshoot to maintain accuracy.
Perform preventative maintenance, minor troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory instruments.
Participate in method and instrument evaluation and implementation.
Assist in teaching and training new staff and students.
Maintain competency in current procedures and acquire skills for new methods.

Required Qualifications

Medical Laboratory Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
Current MLT/MLS Generalist Certification or Specialty Certification in Blood Bank (BB), Chemistry (C), Hematology (H), or Microbiology (M).
Experience in hematology.
Experience in blood bank.
