Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Travel)
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Obstetrics/Gynecology (Labor & Delivery)
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Must float within hospital to other units as needed
- Patient Ratios:
- Active labor: 1:1
- Couplet care: 3:1
- Equipment Used: Intermediate fetal monitoring, Philips Tracevue
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
- Patient Population: Obstetrics patients (labor & delivery)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE certification (post-resuscitation/pre-transport neonatal care)
- AWHONN certification preferred (per additional info)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing specialty
- Candidates with 1 year of experience plus prior travel experience may be considered
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Must have Iowa SING background check clearance including criminal and child abuse portions (no exceptions)
- All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches are not accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification for child and adult abuse required
- Drug test: 10-panel screening including opiates
- Immunization titers within the last 12 months required for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB
- Start days allowed: Monday or Tuesday

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- AWHONN certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
