Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Kennewick, Washington

Job Details

Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts every 2-week pay period
Call Requirements: Yes
Unit: Med Surg, 2 North Floor
Number of Openings: 1
Patient Population: Geriatric and Adult
Patient Ratio: 1:4 (1:3 for higher acuity)
Number of Beds: 16 private rooms
EHR System: Paragon (McKesson)
Float Requirements: Yes

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Proficient in respiratory assessment and support

Clinical Focus / Common Diagnoses

Alcohol detoxification (ETOH detox)
Post Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) care
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) / Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic State (HHS)
Cardiac conditions
Gastrointestinal issues
BIPAP management

Additional Information

No block schedules
Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel
Facility is a Level 3 Trauma center
Located in a region with recreational amenities and accessible airports
Dress code: Professional scrubs; no specific color designated; unprofessional attire not allowed

This position offers the opportunity to work in a teaching hospital environment with a diverse patient population and a focus on acute medical-surgical care.
