Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Number of Beds: 24 bays
Typical Day Shift Staff: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
EMR System: Meditech
Floating Area: Phase II recovery
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Call: Rotated weekends and on-call

Job Description

Provide post-anesthesia recovery care
Perform typical PACU procedures related to patient recovery after anesthesia

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within the last year
Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with additional relevant skills or experience in PACU will be considered first

Personality Fit

Best suited for individuals comfortable working in a fast-paced post-anesthesia recovery environment with a collaborative team
