Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- One day off either Friday or Monday as needed
- Call requirements included
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1.5 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience required in Orthopedics, Neurology, Vascular Surgery, and Urology
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas (primary source verification required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify compliance or attestation as applicable
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level completed (Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented chickenpox history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- 7-year work history verification required
- Complete employment application and resume required
- Clear headshot photo for badge issuance
Location Restrictions
- Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible for this travel assignment: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
This position offers a structured 13-week travel contract with a focus on perioperative nursing in a high-acuity surgical environment requiring diverse surgical experience and prior travel nursing exposure.
