Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit: 4th Floor / Neuro (Med Surg)
- Beds: Currently 18, expanding to 30
- Patient Ratios: 6-7 patients per nurse
- Team nursing approach with unit secretaries and techs available
- Charge Nurse support aimed to be available
- Equipment: Standard Med Surg equipment
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week period; scheduled per facility policy
- Floating: Required to float to like units as needed
- Patient Experience: Hourly safety rounds and bedside shift report with patients required
- Dress Code: Navy color uniform
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; NIH Stroke Scale certification required (can be obtained onsite)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for South Carolina
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in Med Surg specialty

- Recognized for specialized services including burn care, breast care, robotic surgery, and stroke care
- Accredited Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
