Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit: Med-Surg (5 West)
- Number of Beds: 40
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 7 patients
- Unit Staffing per Shift: 1 clinical nurse coordinator, 7 nurses, 4 patient care technicians (PCTs), 1 unit coordinator (UC)
- Equipment: Standard medical equipment for med-surg units
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: 36 hours per week with rotating weekends
- Floating Policy: Contract staff float first to like units
- Dress Code: Royal blue top and bottom uniform
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- HHCCA - De-escalation Skills - Healthcare Setting
Skills & Procedures
- Med-Surg nursing skills required
- Procedures performed on unit include EKGs, glucose monitoring (Glums), and venipuncture
- No advanced skills required

- Patient experience requirement: 1+ years
