Job Description
- Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures including PET scans (prior PET scan experience preferred but training available on site).
- Orientation shifts likely during the first two weeks from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM).
- No weekends or holidays required.
- Optional on-call shifts available Monday through Friday and weekends with a 60-minute response time, but not mandatory.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
- Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Orientation and Training
- Reduced Non-Billable Orientation (0 hours vs. standard 40 hours).
- Orientation shifts scheduled 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, likely for first two weeks.
- On-site training available for PET scans if prior experience is lacking.
Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital setting.
- Magnet recognized facility.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Free parking available.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health documents required including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required.
References and Employment History
- Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
- Work history verification may be required if reference requirements are not met.
Additional Notes
- Local radius for travel assignments is 50 miles.
- Guaranteed hours with the possibility of being called off once per two-week pay period.
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
- Must comply with facility float policy (may be required to float to other nearby facilities).
- Passport-style badge photo required prior to start.
