Job Description

• Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures including PET scans (prior PET scan experience preferred but training available on site).
• Orientation shifts likely during the first two weeks from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM).
• No weekends or holidays required.
• Optional on-call shifts available Monday through Friday and weekends with a 60-minute response time, but not mandatory.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
• Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel assignment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Orientation and Training

• Reduced Non-Billable Orientation (0 hours vs. standard 40 hours).
• Orientation shifts scheduled 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, likely for first two weeks.
• On-site training available for PET scans if prior experience is lacking.

Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital setting.
• Magnet recognized facility.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Free parking available.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Drug screening (9 panel) within 12 months of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Immunizations and health documents required including:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
• Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required.

References and Employment History

• Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
• Work history verification may be required if reference requirements are not met.

Additional Notes

• Local radius for travel assignments is 50 miles.
• Guaranteed hours with the possibility of being called off once per two-week pay period.
• Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
• Must comply with facility float policy (may be required to float to other nearby facilities).
• Passport-style badge photo required prior to start.
