Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Overview
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Start date: ASAP
- Shift: Night shift, 4x12 hours
- Hours per week: 48
- First-time travelers accepted: Yes
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float to like units if needed
- Block scheduling: Not available
- Local candidates: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Experience
- Charge experience preferred, or willingness to train as charge
Unit Details
- High-risk labor and delivery unit
- OB triage/testing and antepartum patients are part of the unit mix
- Average daily deliveries are around 7, with higher volumes during inductions and high-risk antepartum cases

- Pending license is accepted, but the license must be in hand for auto offer
- Time off is reviewed individually after offer, and all requested time off must be included with submission
