Speech-Language Pathologist
Location
- Sitka, Alaska
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Contract
- 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week
- Exact shift details depend on scheduling needs
- Pediatric clinic hours: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Setting and Patient Population
- Outpatient rehabilitation services
- Adult and pediatric patients
- Services may also be provided in inpatient, home health, long-term care, community, off-site, and remote settings
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Alaska Speech-Language Pathology license at time of submittal
- CCC-SLP
- Basic Life Support certification
- Pediatrics experience
- Outpatient experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language pathology evaluations, treatment, and therapy planning
- Assess patient needs, establish goals, and modify plans of care based on patient response
- Document evaluations, treatments, recommendations, and prognoses
- Collaborate with referring providers and interdisciplinary care teams
- Educate patients, families, and staff
- Support discharge planning and durable medical equipment coordination
- Assist with administrative, quality improvement, and clinic operations as needed
Work Conditions
- May involve lifting up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to infectious organisms and latex may occur
- May require work in small spaces, at a demanding pace, and with difficult situations
- Occasional multi-day travel to remote areas by boat or plane, possibly in harsh weather
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccine required
- Start date will be no less than 6 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing
- Traveler must live at least 50 miles away from the facility address
- Housing and flights are not provided
