Rehabilitation Therapy Contract Job in Hilo, Hawaii
Overview
- Location: Hilo, Hawaii
- Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and/or Intermediate Care Facility (ICF)
- Employment type: Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Day shift; generally 5 days per week, with likely one weekend day and variable 7-day departmental coverage
- Work expectations: May float to other units or facilities based on census and staffing needs
- Holiday coverage: Must be available to work Hawaii State and Federal Holidays as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Hawaii
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (2 years of experience)
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
- BLS
Responsibilities
- Provide rehabilitation services in an SNF and/or ICF
- Perform evaluations, reassessments, treatments, and other clinical services within licensure and scope of practice
- Develop, implement, or carry out individualized treatment plans with the supervising therapist, physician, and interdisciplinary team as appropriate
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support function, independence, communication, mobility, swallowing, and quality of life as applicable
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and patient progress
- Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including progress notes, plan-of-care changes, and discharges
- Supervise therapy assistants when applicable to the role
Training and Onboarding
- Orientation is provided for the rehabilitation department, documentation workflow, and facility processes
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to complete an employee health appointment on Friday
