RN - Med Surg

Unit Overview
- Medical-surgical unit
- 16 beds
- Maximum patient ratio: 6:1
- Standard equipment
- Mixed patient population including medical-surgical and COVID-positive patients
- Floating may be required to medical-surgical units
Schedule
- Rotating weekends as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of acute medical-surgical experience within the last year
- Ortho or neuro-surgery background
- Medical-surgical/telemetry background
Clinical Skills
- IV insertion
- Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
- Central line maintenance
- Medication administration
- Documentation in EHR
- Communication with the care team
