Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

- Wichita, Kansas
Assignment Details
- Travel position
- 13-week contract
- 36 hours per week
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Unit Overview
- Birth care suites / labor and delivery unit
- 29 beds
- Typical staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 3-4 RNs on days, and 1 charge nurse and 2-3 RNs on nights
- Patient ratio: 4-6:1
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- Post Partum experience
- ACLS
- AWHONN
- BLS
- NRP
Preferred Experience
- OB experience
- Med-surg experience
- GYN experience
Common Patient Care Areas
- Post-operative gynecological surgery
- Urogynecology surgery
- Ectopic pregnancies
- High-risk pregnancies requiring hospitalization
- Fetal monitoring
- GYN oncology post-op care
- Women’s health med-surg
- Post-partum NICU mother care
- Readmitted post-partum complications
Work Environment
- Uses Meditech and CPN for EMR
- Equipment includes Welch Allyn vital signs machines, CPN monitors, and point-of-care glucose monitoring
