Day Shift Med/Surg RN

Location

Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Schedule

• Day shift: 0615–1845
• 3 days per week
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week guaranteed

Contract Length

6 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Colorado
• 5 years of Med Surg experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• 5 years of Emergency Room experience
• ED - Emergency Department experience
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with Cerner

Role Summary

• Provides observation and/or inpatient care on a Med Surg unit
• Responsible for assessment, prioritization, nursing care, monitoring, documentation, patient and family education, and collaboration with providers to support continuity of care and reduce readmissions

Work Environment

• Hospital setting
• Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Heavy physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and assisting with patient movement and positioning
• Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable disease, radiation, chemicals, hazardous materials, verbal or physical abuse, and physical strain
