Location: Waltham, Massachusetts

Overview

The Occupational Therapist provides therapy services to help residents improve functional abilities and independence in activities of daily living.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop a therapeutic plan of care with functional goals
• Provide ADL training, including bathing, dressing, oral care, and hair care
• Assist with ambulation, mobility, positioning, transfers, and use of mechanical lifts as appropriate
• Consult with physicians and the care team regarding therapeutic and discharge needs
• Monitor treatment progress and modify the plan of care as needed
• Document evaluations and treatments in the EMR
• Recommend and help obtain assistive devices and provide education to residents or caregivers
• Supervise assistant-level staff when appropriate
• Support orientation and mentorship for new staff
• Maintain cleanliness, equipment, and infection control standards
