RN - Behavioral Health

Job Overview

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Employment type: Travel
Specialty: Behavioral Health
Shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Hours per week: 40
Contract length: 13 weeks
Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Behavioral Health (3 years of experience)
Behavioral Health experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Ability to pass medications utilizing Omni Cell

Clinical Setting

Adult behavioral health unit
Locked setting
Forensic unit
46 beds
Patient ratio: 1:9 RN

Key Responsibilities

Work with mental health patients in a locked setting
Administer medications using Omni Cell

Patient Population

Adults 18 and over
Patients with legal issues
Patients awaiting community placement
Common conditions include bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, substance abuse, and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and COPD

Work Environment

Every other weekend required
No call
No float requirements

Preferred

BSN preferred

Additional Notes

Trauma-informed, compassionate, flexible, and confident communication style is valued
Blue scrubs required
Open-toe shoes and provocative or tight clothing are not allowed
