Registered Nurse, Med/Surg
Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 40-hour evening shift, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
Preferred Experience
- 1 year of Med/Surg experience
- 1 year of Telemetry experience
- 1 year of Pediatrics experience

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
- Provide patient care according to standards, protocols, policies, and procedures
- Educate patients and families based on learning needs
- Prepare patients and families for discharge
- Delegate and supervise nursing interventions
- Prioritize patient care and respond to emergencies as needed
- Document patient data, interventions, and responses accurately and on time
- Report patient status to the care team to support continuity of care
- Promote learning for colleagues and self
- Identify and report patient safety risks and errors
- Address ethical issues in care
- Administer medications and intravenous therapy
- Assess and manage pain
- Complete medication reconciliation documentation
- Interpret and document cardiac rhythm and related findings
- Provide ongoing assessment and teaching for surgical patients
- Recognize abnormal progress and report concerns promptly
- Use pain management devices and related equipment
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot surgical patient equipment
