RN - Rehab

Overview

Location: Salem, Virginia
Employment type: Travel
Contract length: 13 weeks
Hours per week: 36
Unit: Inpatient Rehab
Shift: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS
Rehabilitation experience within the last year
2 years of rehabilitation experience
Med Surg experience
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience

Preferred

Rehab experience

Unit Details

35-bed unit
Typical patient ratio: 5-7:1
Tech support based on census, usually 2-4 techs
May float to other Med Surg departments

Clinical Responsibilities

Medication administration, including IVs, PICC, and PEG tube administration
Bladder scans
Trach care
Tube feeding
Foley catheter care
Bladder irrigation
Blood administration

Equipment and Documentation

Vitals machine
Baxter IV pumps
SCDs
Bladder scanner
Meditech documentation system

Dress Code

Navy blue or white solid scrubs
