Nuclear Medicine Tech
Job Overview
- Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day, 5x8 hours
- Hours per week: 40
- Schedule: Blocked, Monday–Friday
- Call: Rotating nights
- Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Float: None
- Patient ratio: 1:4
- Scrubs: Royal Blue
Required Qualifications
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 5 years of experience
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ARRT (N)
- CNMT
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous charge experience
- Trauma Level I experience
- Trauma Level II experience
Clinical Skills and Experience
- Adult, clinic, hospital, nuclear cardiology, and pediatrics settings
- Siemens equipment
- Gastric emptying, HIDA scan, and MUGA scan procedures
- Bone scans: 3 phase, limited, whole body
- Brain scan: cerebral blood flow
- Liver/spleen scans: liver imaging, liver scan-hemangioma
- Lung scans: DTPA aerosol, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion
- Renal flow studies: flow/function, renal/perfusion, three phase, with Lasix
- Shunt studies: abdominal, ventricular
- Thyroid studies: cancer survey, I-123 uptake scan, uptake scan
- Tumor localization: limited, whole body
- SPECT studies: bone, brain, liver, renal, sestamibi parathyroid scan
- Myocardial studies: adenosine infusion, exercise/rest-multiple, pharmacological stress
- Venous blood draw, isolation precautions/PPE, IV start and maintenance, radioactive material handling
Compliance and Onboarding
- Unit orientation: 40 hours
- Background check, education verification, drug screen, physical exam, TB screening, and fit testing are required
- Annual compliance training and medication safety training are required
- North Carolina registry and excluded-provider searches are required
- Radiation badge is required for nuclear medicine techs
- Candidate must complete onboarding documents and orientation modules before start
