Travel RN - Med Surg

Plano, Texas

Assignment Details

Travel position
13 weeks
36 hours per week
Unit: Ortho Trauma Specialty Med-Surg
36-bed unit
Patient ratio: 1:5, with flex up to 6
Floating: All Med-Surg units
Weekend commitment: 4 weekends

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Ortho Trauma experience

Preferred Experience

Ortho and/or trauma patient experience

Unit Notes

Common patient types include polytrauma, non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine, ortho/trauma with downgraded TBI, burn downgrades, and patients with up to 3 drains
Heparin and Protonix drips are used
Team-oriented candidate preferred

Schedule / Workflow

Day shift: 1 charge, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs
Night shift: 1 charge, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs
Huddle times: 0645 and 1845
Tardy cutoff: 0653 and 1853

Additional Notes

Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
