Registered Nurse Outpatient

Job Overview

• Contract role in Bethel, Alaska
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 32 per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alaska
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Ambulatory Care (2 years of experience)
• Ambulatory Care experience within the last year
• BLS

Preferred Experience

• 1 year of experience in a health care setting as a Registered Nurse

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process
• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on nursing practice standards
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support quality, cost-effective care
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care
• Serve as a resource person when needed
• Supervise unit secretaries and PCTs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse

• Proficient oral and written communication
• Ability to work independently within prescribed limits
• Ability to administer treatments and medications
• Ability to interpret diagnostic tests
• Ability to provide patient and family education
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic EKG skills
• Basic nursing skills
• Ability to document care
• Ability to follow guidelines and procedures
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
